She has lots of faded scars on her feet. She has also some ecexma as well. What can I do to help her as she does get itchy at times as well.

Sounds like she has a staph infection, or impetigo. Be sure she takes the entire course of antibiotics. If the infection is not cleared up, new sores will continue to appear on her body. If she's still having breakouts after finishing the medicine, go back to the doctor. If it's a staph infection, she will need to be prescribed a specific antibiotic for this. If the first round doesn't work, ask the doc to prescribe a different one...and take them all.

Has your child been hospitalized lately? I read recently that many staph infections are acquired while a patient is *in* the hospital.

Oh, I feel your daughter's pain, I too have had the same problem and they diagnosed me as having folliculitis. I get zit like red spots on my legs and after they 'pop' I get scars. I was treated with antibiotics and they went away but the scars are still there. I've been using vitamin E and the spots have become a bit lighter, the dermatologist told me it could take 6 months to a year for them to become lighter and they might not ever go away. DON'T use anything with cocoa butter. In the link below it states that cocoa butter can increase the risk of folliculitis. Check it out and good luck to your daughter!

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
Here is a link :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa
If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

Really sounds like impetigo, which would me more common in months that kids go to swimming pools. The red pox would have a honey/caramel colored scab as opposed to a dark brown scab. For itch, oatmeal exfolliant and/or baths will relieve a love of itchinh. For scabs and scars, Vitamin E capsules or cocoa butter are best. The cocoa butter especially would be soothing and something she could apply to entire leg. As for the eczema, I have used Cod Liver Oil capsules for years to relieve that. Good luck and God bless.
