Have you been checked for head lice? Lice can leave small sores in the scalp. You could also have psoriasis or eczema. See a dermatologist

Several things it could be...most obvious is head lice. I know...UGH!!! Well, everyone has them at one time in their life! If your Mom does not know how to spot them, get some "Rid" at drugstore, follow directions and see if that solves problem. Actual sores will take time to heal. If that is not problem, may be psoriasis (a catch-all diagnosis for any skin condition that can't be accounted for with another name!). From personal experience, I can tell you the Cod Liver Oil capsules will take care of that in about 7 days. I would also change shampoos and conditioners about once a month. You can just switch between two brands every month, but your hair and scalp will do better if you change up once in a while. For a quick relief, you might try warming some pure olive oil and putting on scalp with cotton ball; wrap in warm towel for 5 minutes or so, then shampoo twice really well. This is very therapeutic no matter what sores are from. And.... STOP SCRATCHING !! Good luck and God bless.

Check with a dermatologist. It could be tinea (sometimes called ringworm). It can be treated with a special shampoo. Don't delay, because if it is this fungus, it can spread and become unmanageable. If you can't afford a doctor visit, buy some Nizoral shampoo and use it twice a week.
