our instructor e-mailed this presentation to us and he said that we must edit it for our report. when I opened it, microsoft powerpoint said that The presentation cannot be edited because it contains a read-only embedded font. i want to know how he did it..anyone knows? and also, is there any other way to copy the text in the presentation and then i'll paste it in Word? i think it's not possible but i still want to know if there's a way.

HI,

Your instructor embedded a font that she does not have a license to distribute.

When a font is distributed, the creator of the font can choose whether or not to allow it to be distributed using the embed method. In this case it is not allowed.

Your instructor can purchase additional copies of the font and give those copies to you (don't hold your breath), copy the fonts and illegally give them to you (aka stealing, copyright infringement, theft), or simply use a font that comes with PowerPoint so the whole problem is avoided. The instructor will have to remove offending font before the presentation can be distributed to others.
