I am singing two arias and my throat gets really dry - they are both huge arias and a dry throat will kill my top notes.
Do you think it'll be frowned upon if I take a sip of water after the first aria

it's alright just do it ..if it good for you........don't force your self to sing with dry throat ...it will ruin your throat and take a long time to get well....or it ruin your voice tone.....

No, it's absolutely fine. It's much more important that your voice stays hydrated. Just don't be noisy! I've also been recommended to use a nice glass for the water instead of a bottle. Try keeping it on a high stool next to you.

It'll look worse if you fry your voice in the middle of the tryout. I say guzzle away.

i don't think it will. i'm sure the judges that will be auditioning you would understand if the pieces are that strenuous on your throat.
