We all ask these questions, but it is written that in the last days these things will become more prevalent, all the more reason to guard your heart, renew your mind with the word of God and to daily put on your armor and most of all to PRAY PRAY PRAY.
Dont live in fear of what might be. Live each day for each day and trust God with the rest. Be an example to others and do the best that you can to be availalbe for others and to share and care. Make others first before self and trat everyone as you would like to be treated regardless of whether it happens or not.
Keep good prayer time with God and trust him with your life. Talk to him all the time in fact and eventually you will hear him whisper behind you go this way or that, as the word says.
The word also says there is nothing new under the sun. That is so true. It happened before as it is happening now. What does that tell you? HUmans just never want to learn. SOmetimes efforts are made that pay off, but generally people dont want to get involved.
Prayer really works and hence all the more reason to pray that God frustrates the plans of the enemy in the world/in the government/ in the lives of children/etc etc.
Time has taught me that prayer is the biggest tool available - use it wisely! Use it thoughtfully! Use it!

Your observations suggest there is no such thing as a God. The way people behave seems to be more of a result of natural Evolution than the product of a Perfectly designed Creation . The crimes you see on the internet are tiny compared to the pain and suffering inflicted by natural disasters , where 10,000s of people can die in an instant.
Why does God allow evil ? He wants those 2 and 3 year old kids to suffer. If God is all powerful he can stop the suffering and stop it in such a way no-one was aware he stopped it , or God is malevolent and spiteful Or God is not all powerful Or he simply does not Exist .

I would think think that the Christian God would weep to see what we've done with the world he created. He doesn't "let" anyone suffer. We do. God created us in his image; not his physical one, mind you, but his spiritual one. Yet, we don't act like it. He gave us free will and with that free will comes the responsibility to use it wisely and to act for the good of mankind.
If we see injustice, we have two choices. We can act to stop it or not act and allow it to continue. Many would say that nothing is that black and white, but, for me, it is.
I have a couple of very painful physical conditions. I can choose to let them control my life or choose to control them. :) Guess which one I picked! LOL That isn't to say that some days I don't just stay in bed because I'm hurting too bad, but most days I choose to get up, enjoy the day, do my best, and help whoever I can however I am able.
The people that hurt children or animals or the elderly or anyone and anything else ultimately choose to do so. I'm not saying that someone with mental disease has a choice, but the people around that person choose to let them suffer, choose not to help them as they can, etc.
Many religions and spiritual belief systems speak of how we are all connected. The truth is, we are connected. What we decide every day affects people in ways we can't even fathom.
Who would have guessed free will was such a burden?
Anyway, that's my take on the situation. Keep loving the God that you believe in, but don't be afraid to question your religion. Your God gave you a mind and the capacity to reason and think. If something bothers you, examine why. Question it, think about it, discuss it with others both in your religion and out of it. This isn't a sin, it's a gift from the Divine. It helps you make the choices you need to make to honor the gift of free will. Because when you choose not to know, you lose the ability to make an informed decision and others will make it for you. And, you might not like the choices they make for you. Better to make them for yourself.
You are doing what you can by raising your child with good morals, compassion, and reason. The more we work together to help each other, the more things will change for the better. We simply have to decide to do it and keep deciding every single day for the rest of our lives.
Good journeys!

The mere fact of reality here, is that everyone is responsible for their own actions always. God does not even come into it, or even the devil.
God and the devil are figments of the imagination, encouraged by religion and churches - so that 'they' have something to do - act as interpreter for God all the time - because God does not speak to anyone at all these days - only in biblical times - and certainly not past the times of Jesus, in particular.
Does anyone see God these days? Or even hear from him? Really? How can anyone prove it was not their own imagination? They have no proof whatsoever for any claims made about God.
How can anyone prove to you - they spoke to God?
What if they are just making it up, just to please you?
Not everyone does bad things. Those who do - are only a very small % of the population - live in a place where there are fewer people, and chances are that crime is low there.
Criminals can't hide in a small population.

It is that kind of violence that made God destroy the world with the flood in the past. We live in a fallen world with fallen people who for the most part do not live to follow God. The violence and crimes we see including against children is apart of that fallen state by people following their own sinful ways. God will eventually put a stop to all this hurtful and sinful behavior but He is waiting to give some of those very perpertrators of those sinful acts a chance to save their souls by turning to Him. We must remember that even God let sinful men kill his only begoten son although he was later ressurected to eternal life which shows us that God understands what we may go through and can give us a new begining for our loved ones if they face the ultimate cruelty by man.

If you are a strong believer of God, you have to understand that this Universe and all that exists in it is going in accordance to a divine plan. There is so much injustice in this world that sometimes our faith in God's justice and even existence is shaken. But we should not forget that such acts of barbarism and inhumanity are being perpetrated by one human being upon other and not by God on human beings. God had endowed human beings with a divine faculty of intellect and if humans are misusing it how can we hold God responsible for that. But one thing is sure that such inhuman people will not go unpunished, we can just adhere to all that is good and kind ourselves and leave the rest to GOD.

"If God sees this how does it make him feel and why let these children suffer."
I do not think there is a god. 1/4 of Europe died from the Black Plague, and they were as religious as it got.
Also notice that the news reports are not all that bad. The reporters select the worst stories across the country for their hype. It was likely more violent and horrid in prior centuries, where most children died from malnutrition or disease prior to age five, women were killed from the stress of childbirth, or religious authorities (including the OT laws) sentenced people to death for doing simple things like working on a Sunday.
Remember that society is improving. There are just a few bad apples, and they get all of the media attention.
Also humans are responsible for their own actions. We've done a lot of good, but we still have a violent streak. I feel equally horrified about the crimes that take place against kids, but at least we have a justice system to keep the offender behind bars!

Suffering and Evil are the greatest of all human mysteries. There is no easy answer but we must remember that God gave humanity the greatest of all gifts - free will - the power to choose good or evil. God does not will suffering or evil but He must tolerate it because without free will humanity could not choose good either. Woe to those parents or others who abuse innocent children for I am certain that God's Justice will be brutal for those who harm the little ones.
I do not think God is ambivalent to human suffering. I think He suffers when we suffer. There is terrible evil and suffering in our world. What we must set our hope upon is the redemption we gained through Jesus and the promise of a world that will be cleansed of death, suffering, and evil.
To us falls the responsibility to do our part to build the Kingdom of God, to do good, to repent of sin, and to fight against evil and suffering.
Jesus said "In the world you will have troubles. Be brave. I have conquered the world."
I reflect on this often when the woes of the world overwhelm me. I also reflect upon the Blood of Jesus through which our salvation was wrought. No power of evil or suffering can ever conquer the Blood of Jesus. Knowing that also gives me hope.

Some incredibly insulting responses in this question...
While I am not a believer in the Christian God, I do respect the religion and those who accurately follow the teachings.
Christianity teaches that upon birth, we come into this world as sinners, and until we find God and repent, that we will remain sinners. The idea, is that God has a plan for us all. Perhaps these people exist only to serve as example to those who have common sense. In the bible, Job lost his entire family, home, farm, as a test of faith. Perhaps this is your test of faith.
Live well, Love strong, and even if I don't agree with it, never doubt your faith-because when you doubt your faith, your faith will begin doubting you.

God does not interfer with the activities on earth since His Will have been firmly branded in creation from the begining.
What you see happening today are friuts of the seeds which you and I as well as other human beings have sown in the past and present.
The Purification going on will sweep away all these evils as well as the doers too.
