Last Ent Wife, I am just an observer. why would I divide Christianity when Bible-fundamentalists are gladly doing that already?

Not including the Orthodox whose split occurred first history makes plain the path of Christianity.
Sadly they are unaware of their own history concerning their faith/church. Many do not even accept that we Catholics are Christians.

I don't know if you are mocking or asking an honest question. There are denominations that are neither "Catholic" nor "Protestant."

Many of these denominations use the old liturgy that was used both in the Anglican and Catholic church for centuries. In fact there was an official church in England during the Roman Empire and after it's fall that had it's own liturgy and it's own Bishops. It was only later on that the English church joined the Catholic church.

Some of these denominations that use the old liturgy have been around for centuries, so they are not Protestant, they did not form as a result of the Protestant movement that started with Martin Luther.

But these days they often get lumped in with Protestants, it just isn't true that there are Catholic or Protestant, it's a false statement and has been false for almost 2,000 years.

Bill Mack, I don't think you are deluded. I'm sorry I answered the question in an honest way now. The extra comments show he doesn't want an honest answer.

Not all non-Catholics are Protestants.

edit:
Tango... many have been deceived, and your rant is just another attempt to mislead and delude others. Judge for yourself people. Is it really true that anyone who is not Catholic is a Protestant? Is everyone else in the world really protesting the RCC? Or protesting being a Protestant? The truth is self evident.

I'm not here to bash those who identify with the Roman Catholic Church. I was raised as one and know that there are many who know and love the Lord within the RCC. I will however address errors in hope others will see the truth, as in this case and in question the asker is refering.

Thank you Madder... you have a good answer BTW.

I'm sorry to disappoint you Debra... I do know about the history of the faith/church.

The truth is that the path of Christianity is not exclusive to the RCC, which is confirmed by history and the Holy Spirit. Anyone who wishes to discuss this further, please email me.

Because not everyone will be happy at the same time, we all have diffrent cultural backgrounds which effect our thinking and our beliefs, its just a fact of life. and plus the bible is so open ended that anyone can interpret the bible and pull quotes to make it mean what that person wants it to mean.

if you ever get the chance read the bible as literature by John Gabel, it will help you out in truly understanding at least biblical history.

the protestant movement began with martin luther nail unresolved issues to the wittenburg cathedral.

henry viii divorcing and beheading his wives, against the churches wishes, also help the protestant cause.

however, there are a large number of non-Catholic versions of Christianity, like Greek, Russian, Armenian, Coptic, and Ukrainian that broke with the Roman Church pretty early on. The size of the church made it too unweildy to keep together.

They are going to get worse. There was a meeting the other day:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312650,00.html

I wonder what they will do to try to keep their congregations? Will they just figure that the Pentecostals and Evangelicals will stop being so attractive? Will they sit by and figure it's God's will? I don't think so. The Roman Catholic Church has a history of persuading people in vile ways. And I do not expect those vile ways to show up on FoxNews.

It seems to me that we are about to see an attempt to attack religious rights once again. I figure it's the only way they will get their way.

There is no end to human protesting. We are all just so wronged.

It's a distortion of the truth and serves only to keep us bickering and warlike.

Can we...uh...can we all just get along? Cant' we all just get along?

sorry couldn't resist.

On a side note, I think Anglicans and Orthodox Christians might say there are more than just "Catholic" and "Protestant" categories, just guessing here. I just wish we'd all stop dividing up the Body of Christ.

Tango - Oh I know you're not Christian, my comment was directed toward the Body of believers.
