Yes, you'll be trained in plenty of weapons. You'll be M-16 qualified, M-9 qualified, and POSSIBLY M-4 qualified. Remember, sometimes the zone an EID, UOD, or other explosive has to be defused in is "hot."
Further, you may also become qualified on several sniper rifles. Regardless of other posters, occassionally explosives of small enough size and in the proper conditions and location can be disposed of by rifle fire. You'll also become aquainted with bomb disposal robots... which are just freaking cool.
Finally, you WILL definitely become VERY familiar with all kinds of explosives. You will know the workings of improvised bombs, missiles, drop bombs, etc. You will also know how to use small explosives set off other explosives such that they do as little damage as possible.

i might advise EOD army. in assessment to the air stress, the army does no longer have a cut back to how many people they might soak up consistent with month, so there'll be no wait to get into the delayed get right of entry to application or boot camp. EOD jobs open up interior the army only as in lots of circumstances as the different pastime.

"enough size and in the proper conditions and location can be disposed of by rifle fire"
Bwaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha... Only engineers do that, you WILL NOT be taught that in EOD tech school, they frown horribly on that, it endangers everyones lives when you do that, not to menntion, EOD isn't repsonsible for that, that'd probably be handled by a security element.
EOD I've known get trained up fully on the M-4, M-9, and a couple crew serve weapons, nothing too hard core though. If you're going to become EOD good luck, their attrition rate in tech school is attrociaously high. But if you're young and single it's the way to go, re-enlistment is insanely high.

Its hard to fire a gun when you have only two fingers on your hand.
You will probably get trained on some small arms, generally you don't want a rifle with you when you are defusing explosives.
