Well knowing your general orders, rank structure, chain of command, and other nuggets of knowledge will really reduce the number of push ups you will have to do in boot camp.
So ask yourself, do you want to be smart or do you want to be strong?

Sorry, but you are wrong. EVERYONE needs to know their general orders and their is no special test to make E3 from boot camp. You may be selected as some kind of honor grad by your RDC's while in boot camp and then you will be advanced to E3, other than that it will be E1 to E2 to E3 after the required period of time just like everyone else that enters as an E1. If you have an "A" school you may be able to graduate number one in your class and make E3 possibly E4 but that is up to each individual "A" school. It doesn't take long to make the E1 to E3 progression and you will be learning a lot as you go. You are not alone in your advancement. Not sure what your recruiter is telling you about this boot camp test, but it isn't true. Those are things everyone needs to know and repeat a millions times while at RTC. Good luck anyway.

LOL You dont get no awards for knowing that by heart, its good though, because you wont get beat down as hard. The rank you come in is the rank your going to leave with. But it could change, say if your bring in more people, your recruiter could still change it, just need your certificate and put in your record, even after boot camp. I know you should stand out by becoming a RPOC, AROC, look out for those positions and try to be one of them and keep it through boot camp, I cant really remember because its been years since I was in bootcamp, Im out now I only did 4 years. But you will see when you get there! Good Luck to ya! and I hope you have a great time..lol

you can graduate bootcamp with honors, but i'm not sure if they will raise your rank for it. once you get to A or C School, if you are the top in your class, they say you can either have your pick of orders or go up in rank. this was true for my hubbys A-School, I cannot speak for others.
knowing your sailors creed, 11 general orders, etc, is required, your not going to get extra points for that. all bootcamp'ers are supposed to have that memorized before they get to great lakes anyway, you'll be surprised how many dont know it!
also, my hubby had tons of college credits, this helped him out a lot. he entered bootcamp as a E2 instead of E1

My husband's recruiter told him that with some college credits and getting recommendations from 2 officers he can make E-3. Just ask your recruiter- he or she will know all of the loop holes and requirements. Hope this helps!

the RDCs have the option to meritoriously promote a certain percentage of each Ship one paygrade higher. since everybody should know the 11GO, Creed and History anyway, that won't do you much good once you have shipped.
do well, especially if you are tasked with leadership positions like RPOC or YN. have a good attitude and always always always do the maximum, never the minimum to pass.
