Close grip bench moves part of the focus of the lift into your triceps and lats while a wider grip relies more heavily on the chest and shoulders.

Close grip works more triceps.

Wide grip works more pecs. Same goes for pushups.

It depends what muscle is more important for you.

It depends:
Close gripe for concentrating more on arms.

Wide girpe for concentrating more on chest.

Laying flat for concentrating more on lower chest:

Incline for concentrating more on upper chest
