No, one is not condemned to hell simply for being a homosexual. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.

No.
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

Do not worry about Homosexuality being sent to Hell. If you must, than you have tonnes of people to worry, even unto your family. Search for God, and He will give you wisdom.
Christianity is not about Heaven and Hell, who should go and who shouldn't. It is about reconciliation with God, that is to end all hostilities with the Holy Kingdom. To be united to God Head.
As long as you are living a worldly life, you will be attracted to it's offering. The only way to input the ways of the Holy Kingdom is to get yourself involved more with your church.
Birds of the same feather flocks together, which saying is true. Be a dove.

Chastity and homosexuality

Same-sex attraction is not considered a mortal sin by the Catholic Church.
So a person with SSA who never acts on it is not necessarily destined for Hell (though they might be for some other reason).

I can't speak for catholicism...but according to the Bible, temptation isn't a sin. The action itself is the sin.
In the interest of not starting a full-out bashing war, I'm not going to comment one way or another on homosexuality, but that is the Biblical principle. The action itself, not the temptation.

the church is about obedience and humility. It shares a vision to the world, if the world wishes to see it. There have been more than a few saints who have seen the firey pits of hell and came back to tell about it. (heaven too). Mostly people there are there because they are stubborn and dishonest with themselves and insincere with their relationship with God and fellow man. No homosexuals were mentioned. It goes bad for you though, if you cause another to fall.

If all homosexuals weren't homosexual they'd still be doomed to hell along with the rest of us... it's not like we are all perfect except for one sin... we all commit many sins and have many personal flaws, like lying, hating people in our hearts, cheating, stealing, disrespecting people, gossipping, slandering people etc.
The list goes on and on - the truth is none of us is saved, not even one, by how good a person we are - it is all due to the work of Jesus Christ on the cross

Brother, it is between them and God. They need spiritual healing in order to remove the abomination. A gay can go to heaven, If they truly believe that Jesus is the savior and can remove the homo from them.
