This may sound odd but it really does work for a sore throat.
Try gargling with some warm salty Lipton tea.
Make the Lipton tea per the directions on the box.
Add a teaspoon of salt and stir
Let the tea cool slighty and then gargle 3 or 4 times (do not swallow the tea, just gargle with it)
It will help relieve the pain.
I recommend doing this before you go to bed right before you brush your teeth.

Ant type of tea will work- it is the heat that soothes the sore throat. Make the tea and add lots of lemon for vitamin C- no milk or cream, and drink while VERY hot.
But a perfect cure is one my Mother made all of us:
Boil 4 cups chicken broth ( homemade is best) with 1/2 chopped onion, 1 crushed garlic clove, 1/2 jalapeno pepper,
(These are the main ingredients- if you have celery, parsley, peppercorns, ham- add whatever you would normally to a broth) and cook for 20 minutes. Strain. Pour broth in a cup and squeeze 1/2 lemon in broth- serve and make them drink it REALLY hot. Works every time!

Yes! They're all absolutely fine. Tea's a splendid drink. Peppermint is better in the afternoon - no caffeine and so it won't keep you awake at night - and it's best of all as a tea for after meals or if your appetite drops, since it's a good digestive.
Oolong and green tea are both excellent as hot drinks when you have a cold - full of antioxidants.

try chamomile with fresh lemon and honey . it will sooth and act as a natural sleep enhancer. Try eating orange slices or lots of tangerines. don't drink pekoe or black these have lots of caffeine. of course this time of year peppermint tea or simply adding fresh peppermint leaves to other flavors is also very soothing.
