No one can truly know God and His will. Prayer and belief alone wont tell us much.
I know God because i have recognized the number of times He has either granted what i wanted, saved me from death and a horrible life, and has blessed me. The Bible depicts Him as an angry and wrathful God. From a blending of the Bible and my personnal experiences i have come to know God.
He is ultimately the Father, and like any father, he is wrathful, will punsih and discipline, but is also loving, kind, merciful, and protects us from everything and everyone that would harm us. And He only asks us to love and worship him and fulfill what He wills for us to do with our lives. That is how i know God.

Catholics come to know and love God through a lifetime of full and active participation in all of the work, worship, sacraments, and devotions of the only church Jesus ever founded for the purpose of our salvation ... the Catholic church.
It doesn't get any better than that, this side of heaven.

When you pray you talk to him,when you read he talks back.
Study, gain knowledge, respond to grace.How can you love something you don't know or nurture ?
