I live practically in the middle of no-where on a property (of course) and I want to get fitter and stronger, concentrating on the strenght aspect.

The town doesn't have a gym, it's a hole really (geez, I'm typing this at a friends place, sad eh?). All I have is a pushie and an *unlimited* amount of space to ride on, but is this enough to get me stronger and get some fitness about me?

I'm in a bit of a pickle. Some help please guys?

:) thanks!

being physically fit doesn't have to involve weights there are tons of things you can do. push ups, pull ups, sprints, running hills, running cross country, skipping, swimming, biking, heavy bag work, plyometrics, kettle bells, etc. the key is to devise a training program and stick to it. to become efficient at various exercises it take repetition. and only after becoming efficient at an exercise do you begin to reap the benefits of it. someone that benches 2x a month would more than likely never become an efficient bench presser but if they did it 2x a week the results would be opposite. repetition increases neuromuscular effeciency which leads to increased functional strength.

There are plenty of things you can do without a gym: lunges, squats, push-ups, running, walking, etc. You can use a chair for arm work by squating down infront of it and putting your arms behind you onto the seat of the chair and pushing your weight up and slowly going back down. You can lift hand weights while balancing on one foot that is on a rolled up towel for the modern interest in stability equipment. Check out Shape.com for some great ideas, I love their magazine.

when i gave birth to my kids i gained some weight and of course i couldn't visit gym. so i was exercising at home. u may visit a sport store in neighbouring bigger town and buy ssome free weights and weights wich u put around your ancles and wrists and just do simple aerobic with them. u may find exercises on net or buy dvd or video. the desire to look good and lose weight is the onmly thing needed here
