Until someone decides to invade our country and take it over...or fight us on the moon. OOOO that'd be cool. Moon wars!

Pretty much the only way to take over territory is to kill the people that currently have it or just buy it from them.

Right and Wrong.
Right - It belongs to the Americans for science and explorations purpose and if it helps improve mankind as a whole.
The Solar System or the Universe belongs to all mankind. No one nation on earth should lay claim to it by virtue of planting a flag on Jupiter or Mars or the Moon.

The Red-Indians reached America first, give them back America, the British found America it belongs to them. u fought for America and got freedom,

So, let see who gets the moon. but since it will cost a lot of money to built a orb that human can live in i think it will take a century before any one want to claim it.

As per religion i say moon belongs to God.

oh no it doesn't, as a country you own nothing, your land belongs to whoever bids the most, currently Mexico, fronted by big business. your armed forces are controlled by a government that is owned by big business conglomerates, your laws are for the rich and powerful, how often does a member of a powerful big business go to prison? so it either belongs to big business or Wallace and Grommit who have been there on a grand day out, and have sampled the cheese on crackers. personally I think Wallace and Grommit have claim to it.

yep and i bought 150 acres there. it was difficult getting the no trespassing signs to stay in the cheese but i finally got them stable then i've had a problem with the moonbats...nasty little creatures...the point being be careful of real estate scams and the moon isn't all its cracked up to be.

For you to claim land, & call it your own, you need two things to happen:
1) to claim it
2) to defend it
If you can't defend it, you can't call it yours. If a Russian went to the moon, pulled up our flag & put in his & there was no way to stop him, then the land is theirs.

We can't corrupt the moon, too. :[
That would be like saying the universe is ours, also! And that would be... bad/terrible/sad/frightening/cruel. Hah.
