abraham's,the father of ishmael,same path,but his uncle (who raised him was christian)a major christian,but he died before mohamed starts receiving the koran,mohamed's father died before mohamed was born,so he is technicly an orphan,his mom died when he is six years old..any more questions?

I think he was so confused by those around him who worshiped idols; so he went to mount hira to escape and meditate and search for the truth, then Gabriel revealed islam to him.

He was pagan as he himself declared when he said that he sacrified a sheep for the Statue Idol in Tayyef when i was a follower of my ancestors' religion.

He NEVER worshipped anyone other than God.

I think they claim it goes back to Abraham but if you go further and further back you eventually get to nothing but very primitive superstitions from which evolved nearly all modern religion eventually.

He was a monotheist although almost all his people were pagans .. but he didn't follow any religion.
