I believe that in this world and the bigger Universe, there must be negative entities(dark energy, black holes, bad persons) as well as positive entities(light, fire, good people) which seem to always exist together. The Chinese, who have done intense studies over several millenia classify these opposite energies or entities as the YIN and the YANG which must be present to have weather, magnetism, pressure, temperature, growth, reproductions, explosions, fires, the workings of the CHI force, global warming, movements of planets, stars and galaxies, and a host of other manifestations.
No person should be unduly afraid that these opposite forces, Satan and God exist in the world. Though we feel that they cause deadly hurricanes, earthquakes, devastating floods and lightning and other natural disasters that have claimed millions of innocent lives, it is just a 'work of Nature' and no person or entity is to be blamed. One can generally say that these two great entities are somehow related, and by the laws of the Universe, can never exist alone. There is no case of inbreeding for that only is associated with animals or people or other mundane forms of life which came on earth only millions of years ago. God and Satan were existent even at the start of the Big Bang, 4.5 billion years ago and shall be around for roughly the same period when the Big Crush of all galaxies, comes.
Hope these clarifies something on this most
puzzling of all mysteries, we ever have to tussle with.

Early Christian religions believed that the God of the Old Testament was Satan because he was so wrathful and that the God of the New Testament who is loving, is in constant conflict. Sounds like a good Nintendo game, but the religions would balk.

Satan is man made.
God is eternal, no one created Him.
God exists in all living beings, not in man made things
There is absolutely no relationship between God and satan. Satan is ruled by circumstances. God is independant of circumstances. Satan awakens in bars and night clubs and bad company. He dies in places where people congregate to think of God.

Satan and God are not related.
According to the bible, Satan, or Lucifer, was one of God's angels until he chose to rebel against God and was cast out of heaven.

Satan comes from the Persian word "Shaitan" which I believe means "evil spirit".
The story of "The Devil" is a story of pride and so when I relate his story, I address the devil as Lucifer.
Lucifer in Latin means "light bringer", and originally he was a powerful angel.
God said, "Let there be light!", and Lucifer brought it.
But Lucifer wanted more power and so he rebeled against God and was cast out.
I see God and Lucifer as a sort of yin/yang. You can't have one without the other. For how do you describe good without evil?

satan was called lucifer while he was an angel. matter of fact he was the angel of light really beautiful. but then his pride got the best of him and he wanted to be like the one and true GOD. His pride got him and 1/3 of the angels kicked out of heaven. That is why his realm is of this earth. Unlike GOD, satan can not be everywhere and know everything.

the imaginative theologians of Christianity say god created the angels and some rebelled while the muslims say the angels had no free will ,but which ever you believe in god was the root cause of the devil in full knowledge and that makes the devil one of gods henchmen if you believe in that sort of thing. I prefer not .
