you're a sensible newborn. consistently ask questions, consistently save a rational concepts. to respond to very large type 4, there are a determination of religious those who insist Adam and Eve were the first human beings. yet they can't clarify how the Earth can purely be 6,000 years previous even as the Hindu faith is going decrease back about 10,000 years. yet hey, Adam and Eve were the first human beings 6,000 years in the past and the position did the lads locate brides? nicely, take heed to them and they're going to inform you that their brides were their finished sisters. which may have led to humanity to die out many years in the past from each of the start defects from inbreeding. check out each of the medical complications in eu royal households from cousins marrying cousins for generations. question 3: in case you examine the guidelines in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, you'll see God does no longer love all of us. That those who're bodily defective were considered aberrations earlier God. And as far as question a million, there is not any evidence of any god or goddess. anybody who worships any deity is going on faith. Edit: To pungent Shelly... What are you on about? right here in Oklahoma those you note getting pregnant at 15 and marrying at 16 and doing the Wal*Mart element with the little ones and beer are those who're taught that each sperm is sacred and God would not opt for them to abort. The religious fundamentalists are those you note in that subject, no longer the atheists.

Don't you think God is smart enough to know the difference between people who actually believe and people who are just saying they believe in order to avoid damnation? Your suggestion is rather insulting to God, IMHO.

Which god are you referring to? If you, for example, choose to believe in the Christian God and Jesus then what is going to happen if the Hindus turn out to be right? Or what if you become a Catholic and the Mormons are right?
Also, what kind of an idiot do you think god would be if he could be tricked by a person who was just trying to "cover their bets"?

Pascal's Wager again? Really, there are thousands of gods to choose from, so why should I choose yours?
http://godfinder.org/ - Take your pick; what would it hurt to believe in any of these gods? Anyway, I'd rather not worship a God who gives you the options of believing in him or suffering eternal damnation.

(drinks) Wait, this is the second Pascal's Wager question I've answered in two days...better make it a double (drinks).
The problem is that question applies to all gods: Zeus, Ra, Odin, Flying Spaghetti Monster...

Tell me, will you be in front of the fireplace this Christmas waiting for Santa Claus to come down with presents for you?
No, if you are an adult you've now realized that Santa does not really exist. Why keep forcing yourself to believe in him?

Don't get me wrong, because I do believe in God.
But some people believe God is a fantasy, no different than a unicorn or fairy. Of course they are free to believe in those things, but most people don't want to believe in something they don't think is real. If they really think God is a fantasy, they couldn't possibly believe in God, and it would be wrong for them to say they do.

If Zeus is not real, what would it hurt if you believed in him? You'd be saving yourself from an eternity of being devoured by the creatures of the Underworld.

If money doesn't grow on trees, what would it hurt if you believed it did? If money doesn't grow on trees you'd just be believing in a fantasy, but if it does grow on trees you'd be rich!
I'm on your side but this is about the worst argument in favor of what you and I believe that I've ever heard.
