Hello, I am a pre-med student as well, and found myself asking similar questions when starting off. To prepare for it, I would suggest taking a lot of science and math courses and doing as best you can in them, colleges will look at your overall science and math grades above many others. I would also go and interview different people in the medical field such as doctors, physical therapists, etc, and ask ask ask questions, never hesitate, because eventually you will find helpful answers that will aid you in your journey to finding what you truly want in life.

I would also take a look at what you really want in life, if it's all about high paying jobs and reputation, then you may not do as well, if you are truly interested in helping others and love doing so, then it will be a perfect career for you as there are countless possibilities in the field of medicine. Talk to your advisor for sure, as he/she can definitely aid you in any questions you may have.

It will for sure be a very hard challenge, but the most important things in life are worth it, so just do your best, work hard, and you will figure it all out.

Medschools also love to see applicants who are very involved in many different types of activities especially volunteering and community service. Do everything you can, take classes you are interested in, do extra-curricular activities and stay active in all of them, this will make a good impression.

To be honest, I am a highschool student with hopes and plans aiming for Pre-Med and then Med-School. Right now I am doing an internship shadowing a doctor and I can tell you that is the most important thing I have done in my life. If you have no experience in the feild and want to go into med school just becuase you are interested, you should seriously consider having hands on experiance. One would hope that you being a college student, you have already begun taking many of the required classes to major in Pre-Med. Aside from core classes, do things that most college students wouldnt do. Im not too big on community service, but I can tell you from experiance it provides alot of information on the subject, and it helps you decide if you like the area. The biggest advice anyone can give you is to acquire some extra-curricular experiance.

Focus on getting outstanding grades in your college career.
GPA of at least 3.5. This seems like a stock answer, but quite honestly, the hard part is GETTING INTO a good medical school.
My experience is in the U.S. system. The most useful courses leading into med school are the chemistry courses: especially biochem but also organic chem and quantitative chem. The physical chemistry I took was good but not essential.
If you can ace these tough courses, you will find med school relatively easy as I did - BUT, that is if you are committed to working long hours. Unless you are a genius (I am not), it does take a lot of time. Diligence is the key.
My advice for getting grades in college is simple. Do not miss classes. Getting A's in college is not difficult if you go to class and do exactly what each professor tells you to do.
Simply read the syllabus at the start of each course and follow it. Never get behind if at all possible. You grades in college and the MCAT exam are the keys to med school acceptance.
It is not an impossible task at all if you really want to do it.
The whole process is fun after you start med school. The tough part for you is now. Best of luck! I hope you make it.

If you truly are at a community college, you need to get to a university and earn a bachelor's degree.

It's highly unlikely that a medical school will accept credits/degrees from a community college.
