He's a dane. Masiff's have more breadth of their heads (rounder) where a dane's is rectangular in shape and longer. You can look at both breeds at www.akc.org

Depending on what type of mastiff, but for the heavier-built ones (like english, etc), he's far too skinny even for a puppy. I wouldn't say he's a great dane either, though some characteristics are there. But the head shape as well as what I can see of the chest are not. I think there is a good chance he's a mixed dane and american mastiff.

aw he is cute! wish it was a picture of him standing on his own though and not being held on a frontal angle, so as to be able to see how thick he is. but by the way his legs are shaped and the general thickness of him from this view and his skin amount he looks to me to be mostly dane

you're guy has a bit more leg length and is more slender all the way through. though the mastiff picture if less than 5 months old, it's all i could find for a good pic he could definatly have both breeds in him and the great dane side of his genes just came out as more dominate to the mastiff ones. you never know since he's a pound puppy

Daing thats a big boy. He looks more like a mastiff than dane. Look at the face and the paws. He looks bull mastiff.Nice lookin dog too

Hmm. Im pretty sure that your dog is a cross between Mastiff and Dane!
You could always check out a local dog club and ask the experts, or even ask your vet!

I definitely think he is a mastiff! I have a dane puppy and danes seem to be much more lean then your big fella! He is darling!

It looks to me like he's got dane and mastiff mixed in there. He is absolutely gorgeous and he's definitely going to be a monster!! How old is he in the pictures?

I run a very large mastiff group and your pup looks JUST like a number of our English Mastiff puppies so that would be my guess. He is a good size for his age and he looks very sweet. Enjoy!

Looks like a dane and might have some boxer in him too. And you are right. He is sooooo cute!!
