If your an atheist, Don't you spend a lot of your energy on something that doesn't exist to you. I mean i don't see or hear many people wasting time arguing about santa or the easter bunny etc etc. So why do you use so much of your energy denying this non existent god?

Well when people start going to war over Santa or the Easter Bunny, when people aren't allowed into public office because they don't profess belief in Santa or when grown men come to my door to convert me to Santaism (not to be confused with Santanism), I will spend some energy to dispute their claims and side with reason against them.

I could try ignoring all Christians, but they seek me out and bother me anyway. Why shouldn't I just go to where they are and counter the problem before it comes to my door?

Besides, I think the process itself can be used to sharpen my writing/debating skills, it's not a total waste of time or I'd find some other way to counter religion.

Yes this is sarcastic. You really do mean it. Why do you spend so much time trying to prove another view on life is wrong. This includes atheism, agnosticism, Judaism, Muslim, JW, Mormon, Hindi, Taoism, and any other religion that does not believe the way you do. I believe by the way you started this question, you are bigoted. It is like what I have heard all of my life "Some of my best friends are Jewish." Well some of my best friends are all the ones listed above, including most Christians.

I'll put this as politely as I can. You say ALL Atheists put a lot of energy into fighting. Now I could say that ALL Christians try to convert everyone they meet. But that is not true, just as what you say isn't true. This is how Racism starts, people meet one person who's a jerk and they make generalizations - exactly as you are now.

I don't see people shoving santa worship down my throat or see tax dollars going to any easter bunny activities.

Who are you trying to kid? You meant to be sarcastic. We are here because religious folk try to infest our government with their religious beliefs, ignoring the fact that this is not a theocracy and they are not the only religion to be represented or those with lack of religion. We need to constantly be on guard of you people. And we will maintain our vigilance. This subject interests me, therefore I am here. This is not the Christian section. Everyone who wants to discuss religion and spirituality can come here. Whether you like it or not. How I spend my energy is not your concern.

I bet that if people tried to legislate our morality based on the teachings of Easter Bunny followers, you'd see a lot more people arguing about it.

That is not necessarily true. I spend a great deal of time researching and reading. I enjoy studying and it is done daily. I also watch debates and you tube programs on religion.

You assume we don't believe and don't bother. Not true. It is pure pleasure and I learn constantly and enjoy the right to do so.

Because I highly doubt people mock others for NOT believing in Santa.
