USA must help illegals if it truly fights for the human rights of men.

It is not the responsibility of our education system to provide for the rest of the world who do not contribute to our system. Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes and therefore have no right in my opinion to a US education. The influx of illegal immigrants in our nation’s education system makes it more difficult to provide for those students who are legally entitled to an education here.

I used to live in Brazil as well. I was in Ceara about 11 years ago and I saw first hand how terrible the education there was. On my last visit there this past month I saw a completely different Brazil. I cannot believe how much that country has improved. They are on course to pass all other South American countries both economically, educationally, and developmentally. They haven’t been accomplishing this by stealing education from the US. They are working to fix their own problems. They stand as a good example to the rest of the underdeveloped countries on how to focus on their own problems rather than turning to the rest of the world to take care of them. I know Brazil still has a long way to go, but they are moving fast. I think they will surprise the whole world.

I hope you are kidding but I do not think that you are. I have thought about this bc I really do have sympothy for those who come here and do not belong here. However, they do not pay taxes... our school systems are not setup to handle the amount of illegal immigrants that end up in our schools (even though they are not citizens). If they would like to enjoy our public education they can go through the steps to gain citizenship. Have you ever stopped to think of all of the people in our country already who need our help? We help so many others and forget our own. Charity starts at home and trust me we have enough homeless and hungry children to help without going outside of our borders or bringing more in.

As for the excuse of "they do jobs that Americans will not do" that is just bullshit. I am from NC and I saw people lose their jobs to illegal immigrants. They were happy doing their jobs and then they were taken away. We have jobs that are made for people with little or no education and until we have no people in this country with little or no education we need to keep those jobs for our own. I would be willing to pay a little more for veggies if I new that an honest American was the person that picked them.

Sure they pay a minimal amount in taxes. But then the Federal government has to turn around and subsidize every State that has State and Federally funded programs and law agencies that lack the resources to continue to deal with these illegals.

They have countries that have educational institutes. They have governments in their own countries that can help their own people. They also have organizations in their own countries that could help them organize protests and marches against their own governments to make their lives better wherever they come from. Why does America have to be the worlds savior?

Why in the world should US taxpayers foot the bill to educate illegal aliens, utilize our school system to the exclusion of people who are here legally or who are citizens and lower the standard of care in our hospitals, law enforcement and the like? What country does that? Answer. NONE. Nobody asked these people to put their life at risk to come here and have a better life. Especially if their better life lowers the standard of ours. If someone thinks a "better life" is working in strawberry fields, they need to take a second look.

You are a legal immigrant. Why do you support people who are not willing to do what YOU did to follow the law? If you could do it, ask yourself. Is it really so difficult that others cant? These people are scofflaws who have no respect for the customs and laws of our country. Your presence here is honorable. Theirs is not.

Starving? Which illegals are you talking about? Surely not the Mexicans ... who btw could easily find work in Mexico if they wanted to, but mind you, not at the same wages. I know a man (an American) who started a company in Tijuana, and guess what? He can't get any Mexicans to work for him, eventhough he pays wages that are higher than usual for assembly work in Mexico. They are all over in the US, where money is better!

As for paying for their high school and college before we send them back, get a grip! If, and only IF, the US is so awash with money that we can afford to pay for OUR OWN kids' schooling, THEN we MIGHT think of contributing to law breakers ... but I rather think not ... and with the state of the economy as it is at the moment, this one is a non starter. Look after Americans first and foremost, and if there's anything left over after that, we can discuss what to do with the surplus ....:)

Breaking the law should not be rewarded, they should be offered the opportunity to become legal citizens the same way that everybody else is, and most importantly they should be sent back to Mexico, preferably on the side the opposite of the United States. Legal immigration is fine with me, immigration helps keep our country healthy, bringing in fresh man power and intelligent people, but illegals have no respect for the law, they've proved it by coming to America illegally, how can we trust people who openly break the law, and then ask to be rewarded for doing so?

No I do not want to see my family starving, but that is what is happening when the illegals are in our public schools. They are starving my children of a good education by flooding their classrooms with illegals, taking up valuable resources and interfering with the learning process by not speaking English. It is a proven fact that smaller classrooms help teachers teach the students and they are over crowding the schools, and to even consider putting them through college is a joke. I had to work to put myself through college, why should they get a free ride. Oh yea, that is what they are already getting !!!

We need to help our own people before we start handing out to the illegals, as long as they are here they are hurting my families life. My ancestor's put their life in risk to give me this life, so why should I sacrifice my families life for them?? They should make a better life for them in their own country. We made ours here.

Yes I believe that the U.S should help illegal immigrants get jobs working on the chain gang, building roads , cleaning the highway of litter , fighting fires ,shoveling snow from streets and sidewalks ect , long enough to pay the huge fine for being caught in America and to also pay for the transportation back to where they came from .

There is a saying: If one sleeps with dogs, one will wake with fleas.

Not that illegal aliens are dogs ...but they are folks that need help. Perhaps they need help, because they are not helping themselves. Not helping themselves is one of their many fleas, so to speak. Mexicanos (mostly) need to correct things in Mexico ...if need be with our help.

Most of the Ill aliens are from Mexico (8 out of 10). People that need help should be helped where they live.
It makes no sense to allow people "with biting, hungry fleas" to wander all over the globe or our country, doing anything they want, many times illegally.
When someone is sick, we put them in a quarantine room. We don't mix them up with everyone else who is healthy. If we do that, eveyone else is/can be subject to the same disease.

We need to help those that need help, in their native countries. We have failed to do this currently, and the fleas of the dog, are everywhere and they are biting us furiously because we have allowed the flea bitten pooch to wander on in to our lives. Much blood is being lost to these flea bites. We will soon bleed to death if the current "helping hand" approach is not withdrawn and turned into a hand to control. With control, will come true help for all of us flea bitten mongrels ...and a kind of help that won't destroy the American system in the process.

I'm an illegal immigrant but only because I married my American husband not knowing I wasn't allowed back into Canada once I did. Normally I would be allowed to stay in the US for a year but since I was crossing the border back and forth to get my stuff, I guess I was doing something wrong. It sucks, I can't work, go to school, I can't even freakin drive until my paperwork comes through. (anywhere from 4 months to a year) So mine's a little different, I mean I would never get deported but come on, I'm only Canadian - I even have a Canadian SSN yet I still can't work. Stupid.
