I have a 42" Magnavox Plasma HDTV. The TV has dual component video input. One has the PS3 and the other has a DVD player. The DVD player gets no static/fuzz, but the PS3 does.

I'm using the component video cable that came with the PS3. I'm wondering if getting better component video cables (like a thicker guage or gold ends) or better yet a DVI cable (my tv has DVI) would help my case. Games and movies both have the static. I've tried 720p and 1080i, but switching between the two didn't help.

Does anyone get the same thing? What should i do?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Uh...I'm sure they're component. They have 3 video (g,r,b) and 2 audio connectors. It came with the 60GB, model.

The cables that came with the 60GB PS3 was composite cables. I bought the 60GB PS3 also and I only got composite cables. But the cables that you are describing are component cables.

I use the gold plated Sony Component cables made for the PS3 with my PS3 and the picture quality is great. Try to buy those cables, they just cost around $20-$25 dollars brand new.

The best cable manufacturer is Monstercable - th best quality. HDMI cables aren't supplied with PS3.

Brother.... the cables that came with the PS3 are COMPOSITE not COMPONENT

Composite cables are SD only not HD.
Yellow/Red/White

Component = Green/Blue/Red - White/Red
