I have 2 installed games that I am not able to remove (call of duty 1 and united offensive) I would like to reinstall them, but I can even get rid of them. Some places on my computer say the programs do not exist, but when I insert the disk, thinking I can install them, the only option available is uninstall. I go to add/remove programs, but the error message "INSTALL.log does not exist" shows up for CoD1, and UO starts to open the intall shield, but stops halfway through. I have tried deleting the programs, and even done system restores. Nothing works. I am totally lost. I just want to wipe the programs off my computer. If there is a program (hopefully free) that I can use to get rid of the programs, I would like to know. Thanks in advance!

Now in hard disk click Tools at the menu bar and click folder options when the dialog box for folder options appear click view and find the option that says Show hidden files and folders click on it this will cause some hidden files to appear
return to the hard disk find Documents and Settings open it
and try to open each user account and under user account find Application Data and then fined all the files that are part of the programs that you want to remove and delete them be care full don't delete something else by mistake after you check every thing go back to folder options and click the view tab and down click Restore Default to hidd the files to restore every thing in it place

Try uninstalling through Add/Remove in the Control Panel - but do it through Safe Mode.

Restart
Press and hold F8 until lights stop blinking and you get a black and white menu.
Press F3 (I think) for Safe Mode
now go to the Control Panel and remove the games

When finished, exit to Windows.
Drag icons back into place if they were moved in the process.

Try deleting the registry keys for the games. Start -> Run -> regedit.. and then "find" and search for the game names. And then delete the corresponding keys.
Good luck.

try CCleaner, it sounds like the game is uninstalled, but the registry entry still exists.

You can use ccleaner to remove it
