...They vary depending on size of tracks and length of races plus a few more factors.

...Ball park range would be between 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours.

...You can go to Nascar's website and look up any given track and calculate and estimate a time frame.

... Length of track divided by average racing speeds will give you average length of race. Throw in some extra time for cautions and prerace activities and weather (if that's the case) and you have an answer that differs per track.

It was a big joke when Car and Driver said it, but I think the government should indeed ban any car maker who gets a bailout from participating in motor racing. So that will make NASCAR a race between Toyotas, Lamborghinis, BMWs, and Renaults. This probably wouldn't kill NACAR, but they'd have to revamp their marketing strategy away from the flag-waving country music crowd. The tracks would have to adjust too; they'd have to sell salads and lattes instead of beer and hot dogs.

NASCAR will be around for a long time. I don't think any of us will see NASCAR stop before we are long gone. Money and contracts will not be a problem because fans are always going to be going to the races, and sponsors will always be around. I am going to the coca cola 600 race in May. It's my first race and it's going to be awesome!!!

Depends on the length of the race, cautions, weather, etc., like everyone else said, but generally, about 3-4 hrs.

It used to be the race went until the checkered flag was dropped, but that's not always the case now.

4 to 51/2 hours depending on a lot of things. When watching on TV and the 1,357 Commercials per race it seems like 8 - 10 hours sometimes.!!!!!!!
