Shipping is what costs a lot. I found one that ships quarterly instead of monthly and I think it is about the cheapest total price per bottle I have found. I think it is called Four Seasons Wine.
Here is their web site:

The problem with wine clubs is their primary criteria for choosing a wine is the price range to match the limits of the customers. They also have to make sure that a lot of it is available, as customers come back and want more. Quality of the wine sometimes gets sacrifice when wine clubs choose a wine. I have a friend in the business.
I happen to live less than an hour drive from Napa valley, and like to get my wine directly from the wineries. We do not need a wine club to send us more wine. My suggestion is to find a local wine store (not liquored store). They all have clubs. You want to make sure that they offer you some perks, this includes a discount on any wine purchase, free wine tasting, member’s only parties, or options to get rare hard to get wines. Also, it is also nice to have a face that matches the wine your getting.
If they do not offer perks, then you should order directly from the winery.

Look up "A Taste of California". I was a member for years. Two bottles a month, and they're CA wines for around $9 a bottle. The monthly bill was around $27 with shipping. And they also have options to get reasonably priced wines from around the world. The two bottles are both the same kind of wine, like merlot, but different wineries. And it comes with tasting notes and recipes.

When your in the grocery store, just pick up two different bottles each month. If you dont like their selections, go to a wine store. Why pay extra joining sa club. There discounted price is not much and you pay inflated shipping charges (their profit - your loss, you end up cheaper at the store)
As in an example above: 2 ea of $9.00 bottles of wine plus $18.00 shipping is $27.00, and you probably could have got the wine in the store for $20.00 to $22.00 ( I mean nothing negative to your post)

Go look under a bridge, or check your local 'homeless' shelter.....they'll steer you in the right direction.
