Dogs with flop ears often have ears that drive them crazy. Since their ears prevent air from circulating they tend to stay moist and icky. My shepherd mix has very "itchy" ears. There is a lot of dark "dirty" looking stuff in them. I have swabbed them and taken them to the vet and he has found no mites. He says it is just one of those things a "flop eared" dog will suffer with. He gives me Oti-Soothe II and Otomax for cleaning and treating the dog's ears. The real trick is getting the dog to let you put anything in his ears. I would certainly have the vet rule out ear mites before you do anything else.

Don't do home remedies until you know for sure what's going on with your dog. My guess would be "ear mites," which are very common in dogs and puppies. A vet can take a swab in its ear and tell under a scope exactly whether its mites, or an ear infection or yeast infection. Each of these would be treated differently. You could do damage to your pet for life by attempting to medicate it without proper knowledge. You owe it to your Lab to get it vet checked. Good Luck! I hope it's not serious.

she most likely has an ear infection of some sort, which is quite common in labs since they are water dogs and their ears are heavy and flop over their ear canals most of the time. just take her to the vet, they'll likely clean her ears out and give you some meds of some sort to put in her ears depending on the type of infection.

She might have ear mites in there that you can't see. Have the vet check them out. Our dog has never had this issue, but we have a cat that does now and then.

the only thing you can do is take her to a vet. She could have an infection or she might have something like a thorn stuck in one. My dog was doing the same thing turns out he got a thorn in his ear and it went far enough down we couldnt see it.
BUT DONT PUT ANY TYPE OR OINTMENT OR LOTION IN HER EARS!!!

There's a possibility of ear mites, so a good trip to the vet would do her good. :)

she must have a yeast infection. You need to take her to the vet asap.
