Sharia law shouldn't be used because it's not congruent with ethics or morality.
If the law states that it is OK to take a way the life of a woman for committing infidelity, we ought to discard the law.

Wow-wee! It would not surprise me if the lady is stoned to death although I pray to God that she is not. It is frightening the things that happen when a people, a society, a nation leans and is dependant upon their own understanding.
And for the record I do not condone adultery. It is wrong indeed.
And I also do not confess to have the resolve to this situation. I'm just not sure it should be to stone the young lady.

Islam has an Ideology of Gender. If a man committed a similar offense, he might be reprimanded. I saw a newspaper photo of a woman in Iran being whipped in public. Her offense was that she was married and had spoken to a man who wasn't. The day must come where the women get fed up and get their religion out of the 11th Century.

No, it will not be surprising, unfortunately. There is so much ignorance in the world, isn't there? The thing to remember is that these men think they are doing the right thing.
Another distressing thing about this is that she got an additional 110 lashes just for appealing her case. So, they punished her for being raped, and then, they punished her even more severely for protesting their decision for punishing her for being raped. As I said, such ignorance...

I hope and pray that in the Saudi Justice system there are rational people that will say "enough" and help their countrywoman, instead of killing her for her innocence. HOW will they sleep at night otherwise; or do women still mean so little to them

That was stupid of her. If she doesn't flee the country, she's dead.
If the US cared about human rights (which it doesn't), Bush would put political pressure on the Saudi regime over this.

and the men...
I hope that they are dead, if this is the punishment she received.
"Her sentence was increased on appeal after judges wanted to punish her for attempting to use the media to influence the case."
Doesn't that make you feel wonderful? /sarcasm

Torture does not elicit the truth. The poor woman will probably be stoned. Isn't religion grand? (insert sarcasm here)
