I wrote this poem today......these are my thoughts. What are yours? Is it a time of Joy and wonder to you or Chaos? I always thought it brings out the best in people. I think that's why God put his grace on it even though it has "pagan"roots mixed in.
all those Joys and all that wonder
All those happy happy days
Looking at lights
getting belts tight
trying to save up for Christmas time
Anticipation
Deliberation
Prayers about getting right gifts
Working extra
staying up late
all well worth it
cause it will be great
That's Christmas time, Christmas time
so I wrote this rhyme
With that in mind
When I was just thinking 'bout Christmas time
I wonder what's the magic
is it all about the kids?
their happy smiling faces so excited in your midst?
Or is it just the special time with family and friends?
Or is it just the Joy at Christmas that never seems to end?
What is it about Christmas
I ask myself tonight
That filled me up with Joy
and so much sweet delight?
I think it was anticipation
to see my loved ones be
so special in their thoughtfulness in having love towards me!
I think about the times and all the Christmas's of suprises
I think about the fudge and how my Joy just always rises
When I"d think about my family opening presents just from me
That they would be so happy to find it "be their cup of tea"
To know that I had made them smile
to know that they were Jolly
surrounded by the Christmas sounds of Laughter, gifts and Holly
I think it's all the wonder
that goes back to when we were young
and think the sky's the limit and no wishes are too dumb
I think it's just the suprises
the fun
and all the laughter
the pretty wrapping paper
the lights
the sparkle
the snow
What's so special about Christmas?
I don't know
I just don't know
but please God don't let it be destroyed
(I know this poem is really silly I stopped rhyming!)
Christmas
snowflakes on your nose
new socks on your toes
gasping at the beauty
stockings filled with fruities
There is nothing like it
Christmas

I have such mixed emotions about Christmas. I have always despised the greed aspect that seems to erupt from most people at Christmas and never really gone overboard, even before I knew God. The best thing about it for me was that it was the one time that I seemed to see all my family together. Then I became a JW and Christmas became a deadly sin! However, I still used to see my family, we made it a family time. This year will be the first Christmas since I left the JW's and accepted Christ into my life. I am still struggling with the pagan aspects and the commercial aspects of the celebration but have made my mind up to keep it simple and remember that Christ is the focus, along with the hope and joy he brings to those that know him. Sadly, this will be the first Christmas that one of my beloved sons will not be present because he died in March, the thought of that hurts so badly that I am worried that I will be swamped with pain again and miss the joy I should be feeling. I can only pray that God gives me courage and strength to make this time a joyful one.

very stable. i think of that they went too some distance. this may be a Christian u . s . a ., meaning Christ Jesus. there's a God that protects u.s.. interior the 2007 flood, I have been given a supply from him. do no longer anticipate me to tutor the different cheek against Jesus. i'm very grateful. Sorry Sears yet your Christmas decorations have been most of the prettiest I even have seen. you're somebody i needed to declare; "Oh close-as much as", different than i replaced into busy employing my Sears cost account. Merry Christmas and chuffed New 3 hundred and sixty 5 days besides.

Great work! My thoughts on the season are as follows:
Christmas is:
A time of peace, joy and family. A time for thought of what has passed and what is to come. A time to Celebrate together for each and everyone!
Enjoy the holidays!

Christmas is NOT birth time of Jesus, nor Christ.
Christmas is NOT nicest time of year, but worst.
There were NOT 3 magi, but 3 gifts from Babylon Jews.
Wise men did NOT visit a babe, in a manger, at Bethlehem.
Shepherds do NOT abide flocks in fields at night at Xmas.
Xmas Tree is NOT Godly, but vain (Babylon) custom Jer 10.
King of the Jews (Law) is NOT The King of Kings (Grace).

If I define Christmas as the solstice, and God as the goodness of men., then yes, that is a beautiful poem. Even as an atheist.

I'm impressed that you can find joy and beauty in Christmas. I think it's a consumer-driven, profit-driven scourge on society, and I hate it. I'd rather it were completely a consumer holiday or completely a religious one, not both. But I am old and cynical and fed up.

The world along with Christmas has lost it's sparkle for me. I have many family members who use the time to spread their carnal selves around it without any though towards God, and they didn't welcome it the last time I was with them either.
So along with much of what the world has, I don't think much of it. I don't like it.
