baronvonstrudel , I know that most scientologist are good people , but they are misguided by a few manipulative ones.I want to know how these scientologist did not see the obvious signs of fraud while in the church. I was one of these scientologist who believed everything . I know the excuses I made for things, I just want to know others experience with this and what they told themselves when they saw things that were not quite right.

I never was one to begin with (I'm pagan...), however I live in a community full of Scientologists, both deeply involved and out of the church. Most leave the church (NOT the religion) because of the bad use of money. They use the money people give them to pay for extravagance- big fancy parties, hotels, cruise ships, that castle-looking thing in Hollywood... yeah.

Also, the church does not pay most of the people who work there, and the people who work there spend all their time there without pay, and they tend to act like drones. And yes, they do follow ex-members around, and I've never known them to ever cease having their people call and visit ex-members a few times a year.

Having said that, I have to make sure you realize that this is the CHURCH we are talking about, not the religion of Scientology. If you think about it, the Church of S. is comparable with the Catholic Church back in the days of indulgences and extravagant popes. Just make sure you don't judge the actual religion (which is valid and similar to Buddhism) based on the corruption of the church.
