get rid of white bars on photos?

i need to make a photo cover the whole page for a school project, but my prints always have two white bars on the side, how do i get rid of them?

Trim the paper after you print on it. You need a special printer to print without leaving the white bars.

Have them printed at a lab...they will print them edge to edge.
