Trying to come up with some vounteer ideas for youth ages 8-14. Generally to volunteer for Habitat, you have to be at least 15 for liability reasons. Youth under 15 cannot be on a building site. There are several youth groups and youth organizations that are interested in being involved, so any ideas on how they can help would be appreciated.

Well the best thing to do would be to contact Habitat for Humanity directly, linked here: http://www.habitat.org/
and ask them what kinds of opportunities would be available for youth under the age of 15.

I have a couple guesses for you off the top of my head, that would be fund-raising for the organization itself, collecting building materials for construction sites, and just simply helping to get the word out about this great charity.

Hope this helps, I'm so glad to see young people with such a caring and generous heart.

Yes when you find the day of a site in your local community have the kids prepare lunch sandwich's koolaid salad coffee etc. Call ahead so the site doesn't go ahead and order it already you can deliver it but the children will Know The have contributed to the Volunteers.
Also baskets Help them raise funds Threw yard sales or have them go threw there old cloth toys video games etc and have a sale with the funds raised make baskets for the family's of they new Homes.Like find out who will be receiving The Home the Gender and ages make Gift baskets For each person for there new Room.Along with a basket For Kitchen Bathroom and so On.Its hard when your starting out new to be able to afford the special touches of a new Home. Have the Children reach out to Local business and restaurants to volunteer there Time cleaning up Or passing Out flyer's Or what ever can be done in exchange for Gift Certificates For these new family's.

I have been on the building sites, people are always needed back at the supply area helping to load materials and keeping the tool rooms neat and orderly,. There is always something to do around the place where you are staying at to, some can go visit the homeless shelters and soup kitchens. Visiting the elderly and helping them is a great and rewarding experience, Good Luck and God Bless!!
