Actually the bible is a compilation of various different religions and Astro-theology. In other words, bologna.
Every story in the bible is steeped in symbolism which has roots in Hinduism, Buddhism, and places like Sumeria and Mesopotamia, where celestial objects were given human characteristics (anthropomorphism).
The Christian god is a derivation of the Egyptian god of sun called "Amenra" There are clues all over the place. The little halos over all the saints' heads in the pretty little pictures is the ancient symbolism of sun worship.
The story of Jesus and his sacrifice is told with at least 6 other characters in Hinduism, Buddhism, and even Greek mythology, before the bible was even written.
Baptism represents the river Nile's seasonal floods, where the lands are immersed in water, and emerge "reborn". Same applies to the story of Noah's Arc, which is aptly named after the Egyptian celebration of seasonal floods called "Arghanoa" which is named after the moons crescent shape at the time of the floods.

Sorry Staci--but you'd lose that bet.
If you look at the Bible as a history book instead of a fairy tale, you would begin to get the big picture. May I suggest that proof of prophecy in the Bible can be found in several books written by Josh McDowell entitled "Evidence that demands a verdict". Briefly, it talks about 300 or so prophecies that were made in both the Old and New Testament, and historical evidence about when they occurred.
On the other hand, if bedtime stories are your thing, you might want to do some reading about evolution. I would be much more prone to listen to arguments about evolution if only they wouldn't start their pitch with "Once upon a time"
And finally, the fact that you and I exist seems to prove the existence of Adam and Eve, wouldn't you agree??

Sweetie, I've just read some of your other questions and answers. Please don't run from God. You need Him. Try talking to Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. I asked the Lord into my life almost 30 years ago and He has helped me and blessed me so much. He loves you and your baby. He has a good plan for your life but you need to trust Him. There is a lot of historical evidence that the Bible stories are true. But you have to have some faith too. Jesus died for your sins and rose again. There were over 500 witnesses who knew He had died and saw Him up walking around again a few days later. We don't have scientific evidence like DNA on Adam and Eve but if you will read the Bible (New Testament first) you will find answers there. The Lord has changed millions of people's lives for the better. Please don't reject Him, for your sake and your baby's. Try visiting some churches. I'll pray for you. Here are some Bible verses to look up: Romans 10:13, Romans 5:8, Romans 3:23, John 3:16, Proverbs 3:5,6.

the state of Isreal, the old Iraq, the old city of Jeresalem, and countless other details, of archeologial.
King Hezzekiah..many findings have been reported from the bible in Archeoligal review..so you best, not toss away.
You have real Paul, the first martyr Stephen..so all these folks are not real to you, and if you look at your map, Isreal is not even a country eh..
Put Potter down and read the bible a real book, with secular history behind it.

How would Noah know the earth was round in Genisis?
Who would know how to write about the nature of God?
Why would people of over a thousand years apart writing the bible about the same subjects with out emailing or texting each other? Why did all these writers continue to write what was in it for them? How did they all describe the nature of God and know all about Him?

The difference is that Harry Potter was not written purposefully to promote power hungry men to control the masses.

Well, it makes perfect sense for people without proper logic and scientific methods to see the world through fairy tales. I made up all sorts of explanations for things that made sense to me as a kid that don't make any sense to me now.
