I see this term said alot. So, what is a hateful Christian? I personally feel that nonchristians feel it is a Christian who disagrees with the status quo (at least in American culture) My personal experience:
I am prolife AND pro gay marriage. So I will be called a hateful person because I am prolife and "dont want women to have control over their bodies" and I am a great and accepting Christian because I am pro gay marriage. I dont believe I am hateful one bit because I hold beliefs that arent that popluar...I just feel; Hey, I have another opinion to bring to the table. Im not protesting or attacking people, Im not rude or hateful in my actions or speech. So what do you all think? Fellow Christians, do you feel this conundrum as well? No bashing guys, please, and thanks :)

I would have to say the person known as lesbi friends!
While I do not hate this person, she certainly has exhibited a sustained hatred of JW's.
I no many people from various beliefs and backgrounds, and you know what? We all are at peace which each others base beliefs.
I know atheists, born agains, JW's, evolutionists, and we have all come to understand one universal fact-belief systems do not put food on the table. Steady employment does.

You don't want women to have control over their own bodies! Wow how exactly would you control a women's body? If she was pregnant and did not want to have the baby would you lock her up until she gave birth? I think you took this a little too far. That is just insane. When are you people going to give up on gay issue. You are not going to change the way people are born and according to you God creates everything so he created homosexuals for a reason and this is probably the reason. Lets see how many Christians will accept homosexuals or go aganist God and banish them. God creates all right and loves all. I don't think he would be very happy with all the so called believers right now. Instead of trying to make gay people go away you should be asking yourselves how you can become a better Christain. Really I don't think you should spend all you time trying to tell God he was wrong for creating homosexuals. Where did they come from if he did not create them? Is there an answer for that one. He created them just like he created people that would turn against him and those people would be you. Get a grip and let the gay thing go. How can you judge when you are told not to. Do you people just pick and choose what you want to believe and does it make you feel good by letting everyone know that homosexuals are going to hell. You Christians have some sort of control issues you need to work on

I don't use the term myself. I guess it is anyone who disagrees with an opinionated person - most likely of the non-Christian group.
I think some will call me that because I believe in salvation through Jesus Christ. I believe when He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life", He meant it and it is true. I have found Jesus always trustworthy for 37 years. I am pro life and pro women. I just believe abortion leaves one dead and one wounded. I do not believe in gay marriage because the Bible is adamantly against homosexual actions. I AM NOT against gap people. All people are made in the image of God and if He loves all people then I can at least be respectful when I disagree. I do not believe in bashing people or being rude when I disagree. But, I think some people will find my beliefs repellent. I won't change. But I will do my best to be kind while I disagree. When Jesus came into my life I was close to suicide from abuse and depression. He took my life out of the garbage and has helped me so much. I just wish more people could know Him, He's so wonderful and good. Jesus is everything to me.
I don't know if I've answered your question or made you mad, Lucid, but I wish you the best in your searching for answers.

A truly "hateful" Christian, is either:
1) only a Christian in name
2) a disobedient Christian
I can be sarcastic but I hope I never come off as hateful. If I ever am feel free to call me on it. We are called to love but I do not believe that means be a door mat.
The more I learn about Jesus, the more I like his personality. He was very warm and open to those who desired a fresh start and were truly seeking. Likewise he was quite hard on mockers and the self righteous.
Often the humor of what he said has been lost in translation but he was a very funny and often sarcastic person.

I see what your saying, but I also think that there are alot of so-called Christians that need to butt out of other peoples personal lives. Last time I checked, it is God who is to judge me, and not some slick wolf in sheep's clothing. Some of these religious fanatics have way overstepped their positions and have ended up making anything to do with Christianity look ridiculous! They are NOT supposed to be involved with politics and other secular matters. The Bible says this. All they end up doing is turning people off to religion by their hypocritical behavior one minute and condemnation the next.

I like Christians most of the time, but the ones I run across that I consider hateful are Christians who try to change or convert my beliefs, especially under the pretense that they care about my eternal soul. While the thought is well meant, most of the time what they don't realize is for every iota of faith that they have that their church is true, I feel that my beliefs are every bit as true. So trying to change me like that isn't going to do anything. And yet they continue to rail on anyway. That, to me, is a hateful Christian.

In truth, there's no such thing as a hateful Christian. It's an oxymoron. A person who is hateful (I mean truly hateful, not just disagreeable) isn't a follower of Christ.
On the other hand, I see many people branded as "hateful," usually by left-wing loonies, when all they did was have a differing opinion from the leftist nut in question. PC is a harsh double standard.

I really don't think you are a hateful christian because I believe god made people a certain way for a reason. God loves people no matter what shape or size or who they choose to love doesn't matter to him. I think you are a kind person is judged by others because you have a different opinion.
