I'd really love to move out soon but I have no idea where to begin. I don't have a car or anything. Would anyone please share with me some of the steps you took for getting out of your parent's place?

Thank you sooo much.

Get a job and bank some money.

Get a credit card and start using it for one little thing each month and pay it off... this establishes a credit history. You can also further establish your credit history by getting your own cell phone and paying that on time.

You will need money to put down for a deposit on any apartment, and you usually have to pay the first and last month's rent as well. See if you can find an apartment along a good bus route.

I know you can get a new 250cc scooter for about $2500.00 or you can look around for a used car.

I have just had my two oldest boys move out. I think the best thing they did was,
1. Don't move out until you have money saved. You should have enough saved that if something happened and you couldn't work, you have at least enough money for a months worth of expenses.
2. Do your research. Know where you're going to live and what it's going to cost, ie. rent, deposits, elect, groc, etc..
3. If you live in an area where you can walk or use public transportation, then don't weigh yourself down with a car and insurance until you're ready.

Either get a home near where you work (so you can walk)...move next to a friend so they can take you to work..find a boyfriend who will take you to work or move near a train station...just so you can get to work and make some money to pay rent.
