im no very old, but i can easily prove that i am responsible to take care of a cat all by myself. my mom thinks that after the excitement wears off, shes gonna end up taking care of it. She wants a dog, and 4 members in my family are allergic. i looked up all of these allergey shampoos and filters, so that problem was solved, but they still dont want one. weprobably have enough money to get one, but they still dont let me have my own cat. im just annoyed because i dont exactly have any friends at school and all of my other 8 siblings pick on me and im the middle child. PLEASE ANSWER!

ok, let me rephrase that. listen, im 12 years old, and just because i am young doesent mean i am not capable to take on this responsibility. Also, 2 of my siblings that are allergic to cats are moving out. 1 in january, 1 in june. also 1 loves cats and is very willing to share the responsibility. the other, um i dont even know if he is really allergic, he just has this weird thing where if his skin dries, it looks like an allergic reaction. yes, i am willing to do those chores and the cat would be a female so it wouldnt spray.

Honey,

I'm also a middle child, and I know how much it can suck.

But if 4 of the members of your household are allergic to cat dander you need to let it go. Would you want to be constantly itching and sneezing in your own home? That's what you're asking your allergic siblings to do.

Even anti-allergenic shampoos can only do so much, and cats will shed hair and dander 24/7.

Cats come with stinking litter boxes and many times the cat will poop right on the lip and it falls right on the floor instead of into the litter. Are you seriously prepared to clean that up every day? What if it sprays urine, like many male cats do?

Please try to understand that sometimes something is not a good idea no matter how much you want it...

I fell bad for you maybe they would let you get a hamster or a bird maybe some fish and if you show them you can take care of them then they might let you get a cat so think about it .

good luck to you with your problem i hope things get better for you.
