Gratuitous sex that objectifies people is not approved of by the Church. Erotic love is a legitimate expression of love between a husband and wife, but it isn't entertainment.

I don't believe the Catholic Church has an official stand on this.

Perhaps it would be safe to say that the Church would encourage those who are in the mass media to be mindful, in justice and in charity, of their brothers and sisters as they strive to practice the virtue of holy chastity.

Against of course. It violates more than one Commandment. Just another symptom of our diseased corrupt society.

i don't understand the premise of your question. do you mean, what is the official position of the Catholic Church about the current smut taking place as entertainment i can say it is saddened that companies would choose to merchant such wares, and even sadder that there seems to be a great market for such vulgarity, but in the end, it is the individual who must makle a moral choice as what they will watch.
