While not myself Christian, I have to respond to the "Every other religion believes that they can "earn" their way into Heaven." statement.

This is not true. In some of the NeoPagan religions, including Wicca, there is NO concept of original sin or damnation. All people are automatically "saved", to put it in Christian terms. Not even faith in the Wiccan Gods is required. The Divine Principle is accessible to all, always, and the love of the God and the Goddess is poured forth upon the earth with nothing demanded in return.

As for the actual question... belief in Jesus as personal Lord and Savior would seem to me to be THE defining characteristic of Christianity. :-)

I think the biggest difference is that Christian's have a personal relationship with Jesus, other religions have rules and regulations to them. Christian's openly worship, study the teaching of Jesus, and strive to be sinless, loving and learning more about the love of Jesus is what sets them apart. Much more loving and forgiving to be a Christian, it means to be Christ like.

Anybody can "convert" to the religion or cult that pleases them the most, you just "believe" their creeds and keep their traditions, perform their rituals and your one of them. Not so with true Christianity, this is the salvation of the soul, and it is altogether supernatural, God comes to the man instead of man coming to god. Now there are those who by their own will "profess" faith and get baptized but their not real Christians, their just "church-goers", unless they've been truly "born-again" their not Christians. The answer to your ? is Christianity is a genuine "miracle" of the "new birth" by the free grace of "The Living God".

No man can come to me,except the Father which hath sent me draw him...

"... seem on the substantial thesis of Christ's authentic MESSAGE. He stated: "LOVE one yet another." " Sorry, i might dispute that, and picture approximately it one greater piece of selective ideology. In finding out on that strand interior the biblical money owed, alluring even though it is, others of salvation, judgement and conflict could be positioned on one area. it is not in any respect sparkling that the "love one yet another " is the *substantial* thesis. no longer less than that's something for valid attention and dialogue, no longer something to be dogmatically imposed (in spite of if what you are trying to impose or insist upon sounds freeing and loving! a severe high quality paradox, there.) And as for faith, that's a great variable too. it is an element of custom, custom, ceremony and formality, valued for the convenience and experience of community that would positioned across, devoid of any specific connection with easily reality. In such circumstances ideology can certainly be versatile yet no longer, i think, in a fashion you will possibly very heat to.

Christianity is not a religion.....It is a live direct line to The Lord of Glory a personal relationship a two way communication between you and the Living God it's knowing God through His Word and that The Lord watches over His Word to perform IT.He sent His Word to heal and to deliver you from your destructions Christianity is supernatural it is awesome, exciting, alive to Christ and in Him and He in you,The tragic thing is that the scripture says in Hosea 4:6 My people are cut off for lack of knowledge. Because you rejected the knowledge, I also rejected you .........again in the book of Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no, knowledge: .......we are not talking about a head knowledge here......It is the Revelation Knowledge we are talking about.....which is progressive......The differance between other religions is 1Cor 8:5 For ,though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him;and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1Co 8:7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge:......

Christianity is different from other religions in that Christians don't trust in works to earn favor with God. In other religions, people attempt to earn their way into heaven by good works, saying prayers over and over, lighting candles, etc., but Christianity only requires faith in what Christ did for us.

I have to agree with other people when I say Jesus. He's the one who was so different, and so right about what would happen to him. Anyone can predict that they will die, but to rise out of the tomb, man that's calling it!

Jesus didn't stop there either. He promised another thing that would happen, the ascension followed by the presence of the Holy Spirit on Earth. That right there means that God is with us, even in the absence of Jesus.

26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. "
( John 15 )

And so we testify, everyday for me here. I am constantly amazed by what I know about Jesus and what the Bible means, because I am not schooled in it. I am a studier in it though, and the Holy Spirit brings things to me that I didn't know before.

With what has happened to me for over 20 years, I like this too much to let it go. I can testify about God without forcing anyone to believe. And I just go through my days doing so. I am so glad that God chose me to be His servant. There is nothing better than that for anyone.

It is the only belief system where the higher being came down to man and offered an eternity of peace. In all other religions, man must work to attain that peace.

The belief that no man can earn his way into Heaven. EVERY other religion believes that "works" get you into Heaven (i.e. "If I could just enough to please God than he'll let me in"). Every other religion believes that they can "earn" their way into Heaven. Christianity believes that Christ made the way for us!

" God's Righteousness is the Righteousness that God Requires Him to Require. "

I can't imagine how much the idea that I can "earn" my way into God's house must piss off the most perfect creature to even exist in the universe.
