Yesturday I called my cat dudderbuttles instead of atkins when I was getting it's favorite soft cat food and he still came to me. Do you think that the cat now thinks it is also named dudderbuttles? And if so how do I fix it?

Well, my cat's name is Ginger, but he probably thinks it's Ginger-cat, because I say it that way most often. But I also call him Mr. Cat, Your Majesty (because a lion is king of the jungle, so a regular cat can be king of my house), Sir, Lovebird and Lovely Little Boy at various times. He reacts well to the sound of my voice, but if I really want him to look up when he's doing something else, it has to be Ginger or Ginger-cat. So no, I don't think you have confused your cat.

i dont think the cat thinks it has a new name. The cat was probably hungry and little gestures that u make signal the cat that u have food

Dont be silly. Cats dont speak human anyway. She was responding to you opening the cat food. Most cats will respond to anything associated with food. You havent confused her but confused yourself.

it probably just came to you because you were getting food. or simply just because it heard you and came due to curiosity. it's not really about what exactly you say. the tone of your voice was the familiar thing.

No, but if you were saying it the way you always call him, then it came because of that.

i don't think that it thinks that has been renamed . maybe it
just recognised your voice and came to you or it smelt the cat food and came running after it.
