Fetal Alcohol Syndrome(FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Effects(FAE) are both serious diseases. Yes women have been drinking for years while pregnant, however, children have been born for years with FAS and FAE. It is a sad and devastating disease. Not every child whose mother drank while pregnant will end up with FAS and FAE, however, scientists can not determine the exact amount of alcohol that causes this diseases. One drink during the wrong stage of pregnancy can possibly cause permanent damage. Moderate alcohol consumption can have stress relieving and health benefits for healthy adults, however is it really worth causing serious and permanent damage to your unborn child.

This is a not a wise thing to do.Because your risking the Fetus health, and provoking brain damage as well, plus an alcohol syndrome also.I know you don't want this to happen to your baby, because you will regret this your entire life.Remember having a baby is a blessing for those who can't,

While there aren't any advantages to consuming alcohol while pregnant if it is consumed in moderation it is still not harmful. Clinical trials only show that fetal alcohol syndrome occurs with alcohol abuse and chronic drinking. It's not going to hurt if you have a glass of wine once in a while.

None that I know of.

However as another poster commented, don't be an alarmist about it either. If someone has a couple of drinks a week while pregnant, I doubt anything bad will happen.

There are NO advantages to drinking alcohol while you are pregnant. You'll actually harm the fetus and your body.
The same goes for drugs.

There aren't any. Drink only if you're looking forward to having a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome.

All things in moderation. Don't let these alarmist get to you. Women drank for thousands of years before the boneheads of the boomer generation came along and turned this into a Nanny state. You have my blessings.
