Build a fort with sofa cushions and blankets
Roll a ball around
Play your favourite type of music & dance (gives you a break from the grating kiddie music)
Tickling & play chasing
Finger painting
Music - shakers, tamborine, toy drum
Get out the pots & pans & bang on them
Fill up the bath tub in the middle of the day & let them splash around (bring plastic cups etc. into the tub)
Songs with hand gestures - wheels on the bus, if you're happy and you know it, etc.
Fill a large storage container with dry beans. Give them cups & bowls to fill & dump (this is a substitute for sand indoors)
Duplo lego (large size)

Build forts and let them hide! Buy an air mattress or use an old regular mattress and let the kids jump on it. (Remove anything with sharp corners like nightstands and tables from the area - there will be some inevitable falls). Build jumping platforms out of plastic totes so the kids can climb on them and jump on the mattress. Make it your goal to find every McDonald's or other type of Play Land and spend 3 or 4 hours there while you sip coffee or read a book. The younger one will probably only want to be on the first level or in the ball pit, but you can go up with him/her and let him crawl around in the tubes. Lastly, anything that can be thrown - balls or whatnot... anything with texture or an interesting sound. Tickle wars. Hope that helps!

Finger paint......I know it can get messy but put down a ton of newspaper and just go at it. Most finger paint is washable so if it was to get on your floor or walls it most likely will come right off. Kids love it and it gives them a chance to show their creative side.

dance silly to the Wiggles. I dont think TVs so bad if you keep it lively. Get or make some instruments too.

put them on your computer and go to starfall.com. It is a site where they can play but learn at the same time.
