I live in a relatively Christian population city and I don't know ANYONE who has a gun. Maybe in a larger city , they may have more but do you think that if you searched all cars that you would find 90 % ? I think even 05% would be normal and 10% in homes would be way over estimation and those may be hunting rifles locked in a gun cabinet. NY City? would be much higher of course but we may even be suprized there. Having a gun in the top shelf on a closet is a very dangerous thing and may be more feared than not having a gun. If you know the secret to trust in God for protection -it is wonderful!!

It was and IS a deterrent to tyranny, not from each other but the powers that be. We have the right to bear arms because:
".....That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
We bear arms so that we are not powerless in the face of tyranny. The power must ALWAYS remain in the hands of the PEOPLE if that population is to retain any semblance of freedom.

Christians live in the same world you do.
This statistic is normal because we cherish our freedom, the right to defend ourselves, and have a Bill of Rights.
However, when you travel the world over, you come to one clear recognition, THERE IS NO OTHER MORE CHARITABLE NATION ON EARTH TODAY!
Our countrymen volunteer more money, time & goods than any other nation of people on earth to help those less fortunate than themselves. I am not talking about government programs, but privately funded activities by the American population.
I am not bragging. I just thought I would point this out, since all the news about us is bad.

During WW II the Japanese government considered and then dropped their plans to invade the US. Why? To many guns in the hands of citizens.
Btw, A gun is a tool that is: Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.
Every repressive government has always dis-armed the citizens first.

This is how my high-school youth director puts it. There are christans and followers of christ. Christans, or people who claim to be "followers" are just doing it to have a good rank. However. The followers are doing it for christ. For followers it does not matter their rank. They could be a millionare, or poor as dirt. (no offense my fellow ppls) They are yet rich. They really do have god. They are followers.
Now, how many americans are followers, and how many are christans??

Uh....I think the Constitution talks about...just incase the government goes crazy and what to kill us we have the right to bear arms and defend ourselves...
I would tell you how stupid so many people are here in YA! but I guess that is why they came here...to ask stupid questions...and to receive stupid answers....
