Who says we don't celebrate Christmas?
You're not listening to that Fox News nonsense, are you?

To answer your question, I do enjoy Christmas songs, including the religious ones.

Some christmas music is wonderful - songs like Carol of the Bells, Angels we Have Heard on High, Silent Night, White Christmas by Bing Crosby (mostly the old classics, I guess).

The newer "rockin" christmas tunes are ghastly and make me feel nauseous. I also dislike hearing current artists rip up their favorite christmas songs. Speaking of ripping, I heard a "song" on the radio today that was the tune of Jingle Bells (a terrible song to start with) made up entirely of fart sounds at various pitches. The WORST.

My ultimate favorite religious music is partly christmas, partly easter, and that's Handel's Messiah. I just love it. I don't buy a bit of the text, but the music is incredible.

I'm an agnostic, and I like a few christmas songs. I particularly like The Carol of the Bells by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

None of my machines will play any Christmas recordings. My car radio goes into static whenever a Xmas song comes on. My CD player in the car starts skipping and jumping if I put in a Xmas CD. My iTunes software crashes my computer if I try to listen to any Xmas CDs on the computer. My hearing-aid goes on the blink if any one starts to sing a Xmas song to me. I go completely deaf and need an emergency mechanical repair job to get it up and running again. My TV set shuts down, the cable signal is interrupted, if ever a Xmas TV show comes on and my home radio wont play anything at all ever since 5 years ago during a snow storm in December. So, long story short: I don't ever have to worry about hearing any Xmas music.

Sure we celebrate Christmas, why wouldn't we? It's kind of like Thanksgiving. We weren't on the Mayflower but we still celebrate the holiday.

To me, Christmas is about Santa Claus. If I am going to believe in something that I know doesn't exist, I chose to believe in someone who was NICE and didn't go around killing people for no good reason.

If your god was to go on trial, do you think he would get a life sentence for each of the people he has killed for no reason?

who says i don't celebrate Christmas? I just don't celebrate your Christmas. Christmas to me isn't the birth of Christ but a time for sharing and being happy. And yes i do like the songs just not how early they get played

I'm reading your responses and I'm surprised that many don't mind them. I'm not an atheist, but a theist and I get sick of them because they play them before Thanksgiving. Are you referring to the Christmas songs that focus on the birth of the Messiah and Savior, or "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire."
and "Jingle Bells?" Can someone define what they mean by "organized religion?" or even just "religion" It sounds more like a socio-cultural thing of do's and don'ts rather than faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

I'm not an atheist nor do I believe in one religion, but I still celebrate Christmas.

I second the comment above - so many people celebrate Christmas. To most people its nothing to do with Christ any more, its a commercialised festival, which provides the opportunity to have fun, and spend quality time with the family.

Same with other festivals... Easter? Bunny? What?

I celebrate the secular and family parts of Christmas... just none of the Christian stuff or the pagan Yule/solstice stuff. I like Christmas music very much, too!
