Yes, this question is a bit strange, but my boyfriend and I had an "accident" and I may be pregnant. I was put on birth control a little over a week ago, and the doctor told me to start taking it Sunday (11-25-07). I haven't started taking it yet and it's the 26th, and I'm scared to start taking it just in case I am. So please HELP ME?

Don't take it.

Don't have sex for four weeks, until you know.

Spend those four weeks thinking about being pregnant, and decide if you REALLY need to be having sex right now.

God bless.

The best thing you can do is go back to your doctor and let him or her know your concerns and then wait and take a pregnancy test to make sure. You could hurt the baby if you start taking the pill and your pregnant. It is better to be safe than sorry at this point! Good luck!

I assume you are talking about BCP? There is a small chance of birth defects if you take the pill while pregnant.
Do you feel "funny"? Have you missed a period? If its been four weeks since "the accident" take a home pregnancy test.

Don't start taking the pill until you know, ...you can start it any Sunday.

DO NOT START HORMONAL TYPE BIRTH CONTROL IF YOU THINK YOU MAY BE PREGNANT!!!!!

Simple enough.

Your instincts are correct. Birth control pills will profoundly disrupt embryonic development. Use barrier type birth control for the next month. Take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks. Begin hormonal birth control only when you are sure you are NOT pregnant.

If your pregnant, your past the need for birth control. Get a pg test or go see your doctor. And, no, birth control is not the best thing in the world for a baby.

Visit the doctor or talk to someone who knows about the situation. Birth control is to limit pregnancy scares which you already may be so it doesnt really have a purpose unless your arent pregnant or its for something else.Wish i could help more. Good luck.

Your doctor probably gave you an arbitrary start date to make it easier for you. What people usually do when they start is wait for their period, and then take the first pill the day after.

Do it that way.

If your period comes, then you're not pregnant.

well, first you should be sure your pregnant and also (either way) DON'T TAKE THE PILL!!! that's probably the best advice ever...it screws with your hormones, and it DOES hurt the baby. This may not be what you wanted...but maybe it's what God intended...i don't know if you are religious, but i am...anyway...be sure NOT to take the pill...never, ever take a birth control pill! trust me!

Wait until you get a negative test result before you start taking it. Until then, use a back up method of birth control, such as condoms. Once you get the okay, then you can start without worry ;)

If you are pregnant then you don't need birth control. When you are pregnant, your body produces hormones that prevent ovulation.

Find out for sure if you are pregnant first before taking birth control pills.

No birth control shouldn't hurt the baby, if you are pregnant. But, just in case, you should go back to your doctor and request a pregnancy test. It's better to be safe than sorry.
