"18 ¶ Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he"(Prov 29:18)
God has set prophecy as one of the gifts of the Spirit for guiding His people. A prophet in the old testament was also called a seer!
There is so much confusion today (confusion and Babylon are synonymous). Many people who love God are caught up in false teaching and being led away from the truth, a "thus saith the Lord". I read that a pole was done asking church going Christians, "Have you read through the entire Bible at least once"? Only 10 percent answered that, yes, they have read through the Bible. Even more astounding is that only 20 percent of the pastors said yes!
Who is teaching you? What are they teaching you? Do you know the bible?
Look/study in the Bible and find out for yourself what the role of a prophet is and if we need them today!
God bless you as you seek Him with the whole heart!

I think so. While most won't listen, some would get what they need to change their lives. It could be a pivatol point in someone's life when they meet a prophet.

No prophet (including Abraham) was able to save Sodom and Gomorrah and this 21st century generation is 1000 times worse. The answer is No.
