No it's not statuatory rape, but just be careful because I know of a guy and a girl with the same age difference, and one night him and her parents got into a huge fight and called the cops and just by word of her parents he was charged with statutory rape, EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER HAD SEX and he is now a sex offender for LIFE. It is NOT can I repeat NOT worth the risk. Being a sex offender is a life sentance, and you can never get a job or be around children or pass a criminal backround check which is required to get an apartment or even qualify for some loans. If you really love each other wait to date until you are both 18, or at least the sophomore is 17 - in some places that is considered legal if there is only one year difference. Play it safe.

First of all, it's called "statutory rape", not...sagawhachamacallit.
Secondly, I'll assume you meant to put "I don't intend to have sex with him."
Assuming the second assumption is true, then the answer is no. Statutory rape is when a person over the age of consent (the age-usually 18- at which point teens are considered to be able to choose responsibly) sleeps with someone under it. If you're both minors, there's no problem with sex. If you're over and he's not, then yes, it's statutory rape.
However, since you don't intend to have sex with him, there's nothing going on. Literally. You're not breaking the law by dating.

If both parents aprove that ya'll can go out then no. If not then yes no matter girl the oldest or the guy it would still be considered rape. Rather you are having sex or not doesn't matter. Check your state laws about the age difference. It could be different here than where you are. Type in your state and age limit on dating if 18 onto your search bar.

It's statutory honey, and "intend" not "attend". Your answer is no, not that I know of. Just dating should be fine.
If you're going to do "other stuff" (I'm not advocating, but I know how things seem to work these days), google "Age of consent in (your state)" for more information...generally, being 1-3 years apart isn't bad if you're both at least 15, however, as in the case of Genarlow Wilson, you'd be wise to do a bit of homework before attempting anything beyond kissing.

Wow.. it is amazing you are in high school and still have the spelling of an eight year old. It is Statutory rape first of all, and if you don't INTEND (not attend) to have sex then you don't have to worry about it. If you are not having sex then it is not a problem.

First, the word is statutory rape and for it to be statutory someone has to be under the age of 16 which is the age of consent in most states.

I think you mean "statutory rape". It means having sex with someone who has not reached the age of legal consent; 16 in most states. It seems to be normally enforced only where the girl is under 16.

Please don't have sex with anyone. If you are a senior and your English is still this pitiful then you have a lot to learn before you do anything that might result in you being a parent. My dictionary doesn't have the word "sagatory" in it. Please get an education before having sex. Your future children, if any, deserve a literate mother.

Well, I'm sure it's not sagatory rape, because sagatory rape doesn't exist.
But it might be statutory rape.
Haha...it can't be rape if there wasn't any sex.

The age of consensual sex in the USA varies in each state. [This link lists them but don't know how reliable it is: http://www.coolnurse.com/consent.htm ]
Basically if you do have intercourse and he's under the age of consent then you could be tried for statutory rape.. chances of this actually happening are pretty slim but it's not worth it, especially if you don't intend to have sex with him.
