they r about the same as long as quality. but nissans are cheaper(A LITTLE).
and it really depends on cars. but overal, toyota cars tends to keep the price higher even after purchase(like a 20K car would be 16K in 2 years when it drops to 14K on a nissan car).(so u make more money when u sell it used)
and toyota is the #1 saled car in USA.
so if u ask me, toyota beats nissan. right now, its
1.toyota,
2,honda,
3,Nissan.
and honda is chatching up big time.
nissan is more of idle state. its growing but not as fast as honda. i would get honda.

I have driven a nissan since 1993, bought one new had a transmission problem that I didn't recognize when new, had to repair after warranty went out. Other than that no problems, drove till about 175k, gave to son who drove it a couple of years donated it and still see it on the road some. Bought their 2004 new, again had an electrical issue that I did not recognize until too late but cause no major issues, got 180k and still drives like new only maitenance and a couple of minor issues. Was going to try toyota this time but after reading review may stick with what has given me great service over the last 20 plus years.

Apples and oranges. Versa vs. Toyota Yarus. Compare Corolla vs. Sentra. Sentra has more modern appearance more powerful motor less fuel economy electric power steering better room inside really deep glove box lap top able. And most of all put four people into both and accelerate onto the freeway with the A/C turned on. Buy what you want Corolla has a S version with body cladding on the sides and deeper bumpers. Many people end up with the Sentra and others are stuck thinking Toyota has better reliability. Watch out Nissan's are much better now!

I drove a Nissan Stanza for 16 years- never had a bit of trouble. Husband had a Honda Civic for six years - never a bit of trouble til someone totaled it. Now we have a Toyota Camry - love it, not trouble so far.
I'm not sure you can go wrong with Nissan or Toyota (or HOnda for that matter). I'd say go for the one you can get the best deal on or the one that has the better dealership (in other words, the one that treats you with respect).

I may be a bit late answering this question but here it goes: I have heard from lots of people that Toyota makes better cars than Nissan. Here are my thoughts. In order for a car to be better than another, one has to consider many key factors.
First, Nissan- Their cars are definitely cheaper than Toyota and here is why. Toyota has an established fan base for years and due to this, they tend to increase their price as they know loyal fans will buy them. Nissan makes good and reliable cars. A case in point. Their 3.5 engines have been among the 10 best car engines in its class for over 10 years in a row. I currently have a Maxima 3.5 engine with mileage 280,000 miles and still running. Drove it across country from Maryland to California in 3 days with no problems. Another reason, Nissan gives you more bang for your bucks wherein some of their standard items are not free with Toyota which costs extra.
Now Toyota- They make good quality cars. However, they tend to focus more on mechanical reliability rather than the overall quality of the car. Example, they tend to focus on the engine for reliability and ignore the body or the internal quality of their cars. The internal looks cheap but their engines are bang on. Nissan cars look posh even after years of ownership and they also focus on both the engine and the body for quality. To conclude, they both make good quality cars but Nissan offers more than Toyota.

I honestly would say, test drive both cars, and just pick the one YOU like not based on the badge. Ive been a service advisor for Toyota for little over 2 years. Im actually a fan of Honda, and currently drive a Subaru. (dont ask) Toyota does have its share of problems, just because its a Toyota, dont expect to be problem free. They do have a somewhat quality control problem. And my honest opinion, I think Toyota is actually heading toward the "quantity over quality" idea. But anyway, going off topic. Both are good cars. Just to let you know, the computer for corollas are made by ACdelco...not sure if the 08's still are. And, many Corollas had issues with random shut offs due to bad ecu's.
