Protective, brave, strong, mean...? Those are too general. Protective to who? Brave in what way? Mean??? Are there more? Well, your opinions might help. :)

Are you reading too many romance novels? Men and women need to be sensitive, and involved, committed, sharing and kind. I like my man to have a sense of protectiveness and strength but find those things filter down to being able to stand up for me in situtations as well as be able to do man things around the house. I like a gracious man who can sway not only me but in general people around him. My husband is a strong man who would stand his ground and to me that makes him brave. He would never let his family down. He's also a Mason and has obligations there that transpose into our personal life. Strength is about strong feelings of self. A good man has that but is never mean or self serving in that belief.

I never heard of those personality traits for men.

I wanted someone who was confident, kind, sense of humor, responsible and motivated.

None of those things you mentioned.
