LMAO! How's life going, Pot? Did you even pay attention to the wording of your questions?
"Some dude's birthday" "Sacrificing a tree" - LOLOL
And you honestly thought that a number of people wouldn't get offended and rude with you?
Wake up darling. This ain't the Matrix or junior high.
Your questions weren't exactly legitimate and you know it. Be thankful they didn't report you for them.
Here's some cheese. Enjoy.
EDIT - Oh L.C. - She found what she was looking for, trust me. A reaction and attention- and she got it - in spades.
SECOND EDIT - Again, pot calling the kettle black- you've certainly perfected that whine, child. Time ot grow up and realize the world really isn't all about you and politeness and respect on your part need to be given in order to get them in return.
Maybe consider YA! R&S as your wake up call.

Sorry about people who you feel have been rude. Not everyone here is like that. I think part of the problem is this is religious section and there are various belief systems at work here. People get defensive because there are a lot of people who come here just to start arguments.
If I get people who are not answering the question, I just ignore them. Just because this is the religious section does not mean everyone here believes in God or the same God for that matter.
I really wish they would separate up the religion section into at least basic belief systems. I think it might cut back on the bickering and snide answers. However, trolls will always pop in unannounced.

Well Elf, sorry but I have to agree with the other answerers on here when they say you were the most insulting person there. I have seen much worse. Get over it..you're on an internet site where anyone and everyone can judge everything you write, in whatever way they wish. And keep in mind you were being offensive as well for no particular reason. I don't believe in god/jesus but I don't judge people that do, I live and let live, and I don't provoke people just for the hell of it. Which is basically what you did. Hypocrisy is just nasty.

I know what you mean.
I know about a lot of things, but there are certainly millions of questions in my mind, waiting to be asked. But when I ask a true, honest question, all I receive in return are insults and ridicule.
I think to some extent, Christians often find that they simply don't have answers to certain questions. Rather than acknowledge that there ARE, in fact, holes in their theories, they instead attempt to change the subject, or make the subject itself seem as irrelevent as possible. They often insult the asker of the question, in order to do so.
I guess that just goes to show; the religion, does not make the person. Christians are often thought to be the kindest of people--and yet, I've met Christians that could freeze the ocean with their words.
I've met people of all faiths that I dislike, even my own.
But I guess the thing to remember is, it's better to be the asker of an honest question, than an answerer that doesn't offer honesty.

lol, I know what ya mean. It's because the Christmas tree has nothing to do with Christmas, but with the Pagan holiday which happens on the 25th of December (Which is the day the church stole and decided to celebrate Jesus' birth on) Anywho Christians will attack you about it because they know it has nothing to do with Jesus but they feel insecure about it.
If I may offer a word of advice though, if you can't stand the hatred on R&S I suggest you leave before it's evil power draws you in and you get addicted too it, lol, anyway, be cool

The Christmas tree is a symbol of eternity because it always stays green, it really has nothing to do with Christs birthday.

It has to deal with the Jesse tree dear. Try searching that up and see what results you get. There is a significance. Good luck.

Sweetie - lighten up! You only had maybe 3 negative responses out of 30, and no death threats...pretty good in my book. Don't take it so personally. This here is the internet, and it attracts all types, so you get all kind of responses when you ask something. Blow it off, it's just small stuff.
And smile! Your avatar looks PO'd

I welcome questions about my religion.
The decorated tree is a heathen tradition. The lights symbolized the rebirth of the sun (or the hope of it) in the middle of the winter. The day is the shortest at the Winter Solstice, the sun begins to grow in power from that day until the Summer Solstice (i.e. the days grow longer). Exchanging gifts was a way of thanking a host that took you in when it was winter and snowing.
etc etc etc

Christmas tree, and you're insulted?
It's reeks of paganism (the christmas tree custom) right down to the little train that runs around it.
I've always thought from the time that I was 11 years old that cutting down a tree and bringing it in your house and then putting flamable things on it, and trying to keep it from getting set on fire while it is up was one of the most ignorant customs practiced.
Insult me if you like, but fire hazards can stay outside of my house.
