If you read the actual writings of John Calvin, you will see several prayers included in his lectures

Yes, but I understand your question. Why pray if you are predestined. If your life and all you do and say is predestined, why pray? Well, the answer is obvious. Calvinist also worship God and how can one worship without praying? Being in a prayerful state, includes, giving, charity music and prayer.
