Yes, watch- stoning goes back to the caveman days no doubt and some peoples haven't advanced much beyond those days. In fairness to the Muslims though they learned it from the Old Testament. Islam derives from Judaism and Christianity.

According to the Bible, the Torah and the Quran it should be happening but it seems that people like to take some rules that are fun and leave the others. They think that they are more wise and advanced then God I suppose.

For me stoning still takes place in this world but not "literal stoning". Stoning was done because some people felt they were better and placed judgment on their own hands.

In reality, some people still tend to be judgmental and prejudice about people of not their own "kind". They still tend to criticize, mock and put down other people. Not realizing that their mockery have grave impact on the people they condemn.

For me, it is very sad that it still exists in a different way.

There was a story that came out of Iraq several months ago of a young woman being stoned - instead of helping her, people videotaped it.

stoning still takes place in the world. certain places in Asia, Africa, and i think in the Middle East, stoning is still a way of punishment.

Haven't heard of any stonings in the biblical sense, but in Indonesia, people are still caned.
